Positive results sees shares rise

Shares in Dublin closed higher yesterday on the back of some positive results released by the likes of Smurfit Kappa, while also mirroring trends across other European bourses. The Iseq index gained 31.29 points to 4,428.39.

Irish bank shares were mixed, with Bank of Ireland adding 0.2c to 26.3c and AIB dipping by 0.2c to 11.1c. Permanent TSB Group Holdings was unchanged at 4.1c.

Elsewhere in the financial sector, insurer FBD Holdings fell 5c to €15.50.
