New accounts filed by Lindley Ltd, operators of the restaurant, show that the firm’s accumulated profits rose by €24,768 from €252,695 to €277,463 in the 12 months to the end of Feb 28 this year.

The firm’s cash during the year jumped by 30%, or €156,606, from €526,515 to €683,121.

The continued growth in the business follows its chef patron, Ross Lewis, receiving the honour of being asked to cook for Queen Elizabeth II at the state banquet during her visit in 2011.

The accounts show that the multi-award winning eatery continued to receive a ‘Royal’ dividend last year with the profit rise.

Chapter One attained its Michelin star in 2007 and the restaurant is one of only five others in Ireland sharing the distinction. A sixth, Patrick Gilbaud, has two stars.

Mr Lewis — who declined to be interviewed in relation to the 2013 accounts — said previously that the Michelin star “is very important for the business”.

“It is a mark of quality and an endorsement of what we are doing.”

The restaurant — which opened in 1992 in the basement of the Dublin Writers’ Museum on Parnell Square — offers a & four-course dinner menu for €65, with a tasting menu costing €80 for a full table. Dishes include stuffed pig’s tail, and Achill Island black face lamb.
