Eurozone markets in positive mood

Data figures from China were broadly in line with market expectations and were the main catalyst.

However, gains were modest across the board as investors took profits in early morning, and trading volumes were light throughout the day. Stocks in Dublin closed up 3.11 to finish on 4,057.90.

It was a typically mixed day for the financial sector with AIB gaining 0.1c to 5.5c, Bank of Ireland shedding 0.1c, closing on 17.1c, and Permanent TSB adding 0.5c to finish on 3.3c. Meanwhile, insurer FBD Holdings added a further 10c to close on €15.40.

It was a very quiet day for the Irish construction sector with Kingspan and Grafton remaining unchanged on €10.30 and €5.45. CRH added 4c to €15.65.
