Markets across the eurozone had a slow start to the week, as uninspiring Chinese data figures reignited global growth concerns.

The Iseq was no exception to this falling, 16 points to finish 3,965.84.

In the financial sector, banking stocks were mixed with Bank of Ireland being one of the main casualties shedding 0.9c to close on 17.1c, while AIB trimmed 0.1c to 7.1. Permanent TSB Group added 0.1c to finish on 3.1. Insurer FBD Holdings also showed a small gain by adding 0.5c to close on €13.53.

The construction sector showed a similar trend, but in reverse, with only CRH in red numbers, falling 13.5c to €15.78 while Grafton Group and Kingspan gained, the former adding 5c to €5.67 while the latter added 20.5c finishing on €9.94.
