Markets start week on positive note

It was a positive start to the week for markets across the eurozone with cars and banks pushing markets higher, but the UK and US bank holiday meant volumes were very low.

The Iseq was helped along by the Labour Court’s recommendations on Aer Lingus’ portion of the IASS pension scheme. The stock added 6c or 3.87% to close on €1.611. The Iseq closed 33.46 points up on 4,079.37.

Banking stocks were positive for the most part with only Permanent TSB trading flat on 3.5c, while Bank of Ireland added 0.4c to 19.3c. AIB gained 0.1c to finish on 6.7c.
