Shares in Dublin traded slightly higher overall yesterday having begun the session in negative territory.

The president of the ECB Mario Draghi said the bank will pass judgment on the Irish promissory note deal during the year. He also noted the elimination of exceptional liquidity assistance extended to the IBRC to meet its liabilities as a positive aspect of the deal. The Iseq Index finished up 2.28 points at 3,665.85.

In the financial sector banking stocks were mainly flat with Permanent TSB Group Holdings staying firm at 3.5c and Bank of Ireland also unchanged at 13.4c. AIB added 0.1c to 6.3c on the day. Meanwhile, insurer FBD Holdings jumped 19.5c to €12.49.
