The Irish Examiner and Mediacontact.ie have joined forces with UCC to launch Cork’s inaugural Social Newsmaker conference.

The purpose of the half-day conference, which will take place on Mar 5, is to inspire 100 organisations to join the social news revolution by learning the tricks and skills from the best social news creators around.

Speaking following the launch Dolan O’Hagan, Irish Examiner executive editor for news and digital, said the newspaper was delighted to become official media sponsors for the event. “The digital space is an integral part of what we believe should be the mixed print and digital solution that everyone, from the community group to the large business, should be embracing to promote their enterprise. We are working hard to improve on every facet of that mixed solution and that is why we are delighted to be associated with this event,” he said.
