A Co Tipperary man at the centre of a multi-billion euro corporate writedown said he was shocked at allegations of accounting malpractice levied against him by Hewlett Packard (HP).

Mike Lynch, the former head of Autonomy, considers the accusation of serious accounting improprieties from its new owner HP to be wrong and shocking.

In an interview, a “shocked” Mr Lynch said he was confident he would be absolved of any wrongdoing. He said he had not been notified by HP about the allegation before it was made public, nor had he been contacted by any authorities.
