Markets closely watch US election

All eyes are firmly focused on the outcome of the US election today.

Yesterday’s nerves have quelled somewhat as markets across the eurozone recovered fractionally to take back some of yesterday’s loss, a firm winner by the morning is the preference for all markets. The Iseq continued its upward momentum to gain another 16.72 points to close on 3,370.48.

A slow day for the Irish financials with AIB and Permanent TSB giving back 0.1c to close at 5.1c and 2.3c. Bank of Ireland was flat at 9.7c. Insurer FBD Holdings gave back all of yesterday’s gains to close down 22c on €9.58.
