The Iseq Index drifted back further as the issue of Ireland’s bank debt failed to make it on to the discussion table at Monday night’s EU ministerial meeting.

It had been hoped that a deal involving promissory notes in IBRC could be thrashed out sooner. The Irish Exchange closed down 30.1 points to 3,267.2.

In the financial sector, AIB declined by 0.2c to 5.4c, Bank of Ireland lost 0.3c to 9.8c while Permanent TSB added 0.1c to 2.6c. Insurer FBD Holdings was unchanged at €9.84. Minister for Transport Leo Varadkar outlined a number of pending proposals being considered with a view to reducing the number of driving offences in the upcoming Road Traffic Bill.
