European markets bounce back

European markets bounced yesterday, recovering some of the ground lost on the first two trading days of the week.

The Iseq index mirrored most of its major European peers in gaining 13.70 points to close at 3,281.58.

Bank stocks were broadly positive with both AIB and Permanent TSB Group leading the way. The former gained 01.c to 6c while the latter tacked on 0.4c or around 16% to 2.9c. Bank of Ireland remained steady at 9.9c. Irish insurer FBD Holdings added 20c to €9.80.
