Market rebounds to close positively

The Iseq Index rebounded as world markets reacted positively to comments made by US Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke.

Market rebounds to close positively

During his speech at Jackson’s Hole yesterday, Bernanke signalled the central bank stood ready to bolster the economy. The Iseq closed the week up 30.1 to 3160.8.

In the financial sector, Bank of Ireland advanced 0.5c to 8.8c and AIB was ahead by 0.2c to 5c. Permanent TSB Group Holdings was unchanged at 2.4c. Insurer FBD Holdings strengthened by 16c to €9.00.
