Autodirect.ie opens second outlet

Motor dealer Jerry O’Riordan has been around the clock — he’s 52 years in the trade, and opened his latest venture at the weekend.

Autodirect.ie opens second outlet

He’s just established the second outlet for Autodirect.ie at Cork’s EastGate Business Park, after the first was set up in Naas two years ago.

Among its offers is a quality used car importing service, of makes such as Audi, BMW Jaguar, Honda, and VW. It has just leased 7,000sq ft of showrooms via Cohalan Downing, in a building vacated by a motorcycle dealership.

Hugely well known in the motor trade, Mr O’Riordan was one of the founder members of Nissan’s Motor World in Cork back in 1985: He left Johnson and Perrott, where he’d been in car rentals for 25 years. In later years, he returned to car rentals and leasing.

Between Cork and Naas, Autodirect has provided 10 jobs, and administration for both will be handled at EastGate by Marie Hyde.

Also involved as MD is Brian O’Riordan, who has an IT background and ran a major car rental company over the past 18 years.

The company is looking at options for selling new cars and says that despite the Sterling challenge, it can source and supply top qual-ity used cars at very competitive rates from Britain, to buyers’ specifications.
