‘Extremely proud’ Dawn Meats first M&S supplier to get gold standard
Dawn Meats is the first Marks and Spencer’s supplier to achieve a gold standard in the scorecard process. Dawn Meats chief executive Niall Browne said the company was extremely proud to be the first supplier to win the award.
“We are extremely proud to receive this award and being the first supplier to get to gold with Marks and Spencer, not only for food but from the entire supply base is a fantastic achievement. This recognition is testament to the commitment and passion of the Dawn Meats team who have worked extremely hard over the past two years to achieve this significant milestone with Marks and Spencer”.
Dawn Meats are a major supplier to Marks and Spencer with select farm beef and lamb and also exclusively supplies M&S with organic and speciality beef and lamb products.
M&S food trading director Andy Adcock said “we work very closely with our suppliers to help us deliver food that is ethically sourced and of the highest quality for our customers. This year has seen the fifth anniversary of plan A, encouraging our employees and customers to ‘do the right thing’ and we are delighted to award Dawn Meats Gold status for their work in helping us achieve our plan A commitments”.

UK pig feed prices have increased by about 25% in recent weeks because of poor crop growing conditions primarily in the US, the England-based NFU said yesterday, citing the National Pig Association.
Farmers responsible for 10% of the UK’s weekly pork output may stop production if feed prices don’t moderate by Christmas, according to the statement.
