Diploma in leadership launched
The programme will see 18 of the company’s core management team receiving a Higher Diploma in Leadership from the institute after completing the tailor made programme over a year and a half.
Director of human resources at Barry Group, Niall Hartnett, said the new programme is designed to equip the company’s management with the skills to grow the company.
“As part of the company’s development, we realise that we need to invest in its leadership capability. With the support and assistance of the institute, we have been afforded the opportunity to develop our management teams through a work-based leadership programme that will reinforce action-based learning for the 18 managers on the programme.”
Barry Group is a leading wholesale food and alcohol distribution business employing over 250 people at its distribution centre in north Cork.
Programme director at the institute, Seadna Ryan, said that the programme is a best in its class development as it will give people a chance to up-skill within an organisation.
“One of the key benefits of this programme is that it develops methodologies for projects and on-the-job learning activities that are relevant to the organisation to give participants a strong work-based perspective.”
