Excluding some dairy farmers from the Beef Technology Adoption Programme is counterproductive, the ICMSA’s Michael Guinan has warned.

The chairperson of the ICMSA’s beef and & cattle committee, Mr Guinan said all farmers involved in beef production should consider the merits of the scheme for their farm and he urged suitably qualified farmers to apply for the scheme before the closing date of Mar 7, 2012.

“The discussion group format has worked well for dairy farming as a means of improving the information flow between farmers and it has aided the adoption of modern and more efficient farming practices,” Mr Guinan said.
