ISEQ ends week in positive territory

THE ISEQ index ended the week in positive territoryyesterday, to close up 38.61 points to 2,404.74.

Finance ministers and central bankers from the G20 said they would take all steps needed to calm the global financial system. There is growing speculation that the ECB will take further measures to ease the eurozone debt crisis.

In the financial sector, Bank of Ireland gained 0.5c to 7.3c. AIB added 0.3c to 4.3c. Irish Life & Permanent advanced 1.7c to 3.7c, a gain of 85%, while insurance group FBD Holdings was 25c better at €6.35.
