Crann technology to aid data storage

Dublin: Crann research centre is developing technology to improve data storage, in partnership with hard drive designer and manufacturer Western Digital.

Crann, the Science Foundation Ireland-funded research centre at Trinity College Dublin, says its heat-assisted magnetic recording will allow 10 times more data to be stored on computer hard drives without increasing their physical size.
