VIGILANCE among farm workers involves a few minutes of forethought and planning which could save lives, IFA deputy president Eddie Downey told an Irish meeting on Agricultural Occupational Health and Safety in Dublin yesterday.

Mr Downey told the conference, jointly hosted by the Health and Safety Authority and Teagasc, that by simply taking a few minutes to think about the risks involved before starting a task, you can take preventative measures to lessen the likelihood of an accident.

The meeting is an occasional one in the rota of Nordic Meetings on Agricultural Occupational Safety and Health.
