Dawn Foods employee recognised for his exceptional work with award
A native of Clonmel, Co Tipperary, he is a training manager at Dawn Fresh Foods in Co Tipperary.
He was presented with his award by Minister for Research and Innovation Séan Sherlock. He is one of only nine winners in Ireland chosen from 20,000 Irish learners and over a million globally.
Mr Sherlock said: “These accolades are a benchmark for all learners and trainers to aspire to as they demonstrate that dedication and hard work brings reward. In addition, the skills being recognised here today are essential in the current recessionary times as we need a highly skilled workforce to ensure economic recovery.”
Aidan was nominated by Ger Galvin, managing director at Sapphire Training, for his championing of learning and for his work as an assessor. He was the force in bringing Dawn Fresh Food operators through the City & Guilds NVQ in Food Manufacturing.
Aidan said: “I was motivated to become a trainer from my own experience and interest in trying to learn as much as possible about what I do.
“I feel it empowers people with confidence to try new things and it is important to show that with a little effort and dedication, individuals’ lives can be improved.”
