Shipping, port traffic growing

Dublin: Ireland’s shipping and port traffic have grown across all sectors during the first quarter of 2011, according to the Irish Maritime Development Office.

Total lift-on/ lift-off trades volumes grew by 3%, Roll-on/Roll-off export traffic was also up 2% on an all island basis and dry bulk volumes through ROI ports increased by 21% while breakbulk volumes were up 25%. The tanker/liquid market declined by 12%.
