NAMA home loans to kickstart market

NAMA is planning to give loans to potential homebuyers in a bid to kickstart the property market.

Details of how this will operate have yet to befinalised, but NAMA is currently talking to banks about the idea.

The agency’s chairman Frank Daly said the banks do not have a large amount of mortgage finance available, but NAMA does. He said helping kick-start transactions in the property market is part of its “brief”.
