Market breaks through 3,000 points

The ISEQ index continued its positive run from last week in line with other European bourses, rising above 3,000 points yesterday.

Market breaks through 3,000 points

The Irish exchange finished 29.71 points higher at 3,015.55.

Financial stocks were stronger overall with AIB gaining 3.1c to 28.4, Bank of Ireland adding 1.9c to 0.40 and Irish Life & Permanent Holdings advancing 8.2c to 98.5c. Areport in daft.ie showed despite a fall in average rents by 0.6% in 2010, the decline was significantly below that experienced in 2009. Meanwhile, FBD Holdings climbed 4.9c to €6.99.
