Dublin/London: London Mayor Boris Johnson has approved the Johnny Ronan/Richard Barrett-backed £5.5 billion redevelopment project for London’s iconic Battersea Power Station site.

The green light from the mayor follows a similar decision from Wandsworth Council last month.

Real Estate Opportunities (REO) — the international property development firm, controlled by Irish company, Treasury Holdings — has owned the 38-acre site for four years and plans to begin work on the 13-year project in 2012.
