Department urges farmers to submit REPS 3 forms for payment next month

FARMERS are being urged to submit their REPS 3 application claim forms as soon as possible, as the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food hopes to issue payments before the end of this year.

Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Brendan Smith said that the anniversary date for commencement for a majority of the REPS 3 participants fell in the final three months of the year.

The Department had issued the necessary documents, Form 1C, to all participants to certify that they were operating in accordance with the terms and conditions of the scheme and to claim their annual payment. The minister urged farmers to submit the claim forms as soon as possible in order to ensure early payment.

Processing REPS 4 payments is also at an advanced stage, with payments of the 2010 scheme early next month.
