London: British Prime Minister David Cameron left for China yesterday at the head of the largest ever British trade delegation as he tries to show off his new policy of business-focused diplomacy.

His delegation includes Paul Walsh of Diageo, Kevin Smith of GKN, Marcus Agius of Barclays, Peter Voser of Royal Dutch Shell, Peter Sands of Standard Chartered and Philip Hampton of Royal Bank of Scotland Group.

Britain is relying on exports and investment to keep the economy growing as the deepest budget cuts since World War II dim the prospects for consumer spending.
