PRE-TAX profits at one of the country’s largest building firms dropped 85% last year after revenues fell by €100 million.

Accounts just filed by PJ Walls Holdings Ltd and subsidiaries show that the group recorded a pre-tax profit of €1.2m to the end of December 2009, after recording pre-tax profits of €8.3m in 2008.

PJ Walls operates in Ireland and Britain. Some of the group’s construction projects include the redevelopment of the €80m O2 Arena, Pier C at Dublin Airport, Trinity College’s Biosciences building, and the Cliff House Hotel at Ardmore, Co Waterford.
