Recession will ‘genuinely’ be over soon

THE recession will soon be declared to be genuinely over, according to one of the country’s best-known economists, Rossa White, who issued his last market comment for Davy yesterday.

Mr White is leaving Davy stockbrokers to become chief economist with the National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA).

He told readers in his last briefing note that figures which will be released at the end of September will “genuinely confirm” that Ireland has emerged from recession.
