Lufthansa Technik deal secures jobs

JUST eight months after it was forced to put its 470 staff in its Dublin operation on protective notice, Lufthansa Technik Airmotive has secured a new engine contract which will secure the job security of its employees.

The plant in Rathcoole has been chosen as the maintenance, repair and overhaul site for the new IAE V2500 engine.

The decision will see the company invest $40 million (€29m) in equipping the operation for the engine type as well as implementing strategic improvement and business processes there.
