Revenue served the petitions on McCarthy’s Bar & Bistro Ltd in Bishopstown; the Frankfield-based J&R Hotels business and the BR Bar & Bistro, which is located in Douglas. All three businesses are jointly owned by Cork-based business partners Robert McCarthy and John Hickey.

Revenue refused to comment on the matter, yesterday, saying that it does not discuss petitions prior to court hearings. A date of February 8 has been set for a High Court hearing on each of the winding up petitions.
