Ryanair accuses Aer Lingus of false information

RYANAIR, which has failed twice to take over its rival, Aer Lingus, last night accused it of issuing incorrect information to the market last December in the heat of the takeover battle.

“This is a predictable comment from a hostile shareholder,” a spokesman for Aer Lingus said last night, adding the group had “no further comment to make on the matter”.

A spokeswoman for the Irish Takeover Panel said “it never comments on such matters” and refused to be drawn any further, suggesting the matter was not a high on the panel’s agenda.
