Markets fall across Europe and US

THE ISEQ index fell 63.37 points yesterday to 2,572.98 mirroring the performance of bourses throughout Europe and the US.

Many investors offloaded some of the main banking and construction stocks which were weak throughout the day. There was also some profit taking in drinks company C&C.

In the financial sector, AIB weakened 11c to €1.25, Bank of Ireland declined 10c to €1.24, Irish Life & Permanent slid 16c to €2.63, while insurance company FBD Holdings finished 17c weaker at €6.41.
