TICKLING the taste buds of visitors with top-quality Irish food can give tourism a nourishing boost, it was suggested last night.

Fáilte Ireland chairman, Redmond O’Donoghue, highlighted the potential when he formally opened the Festival of Waterford Food in Dungarvan.

He said food was one of Ireland’s key strengths, acknowledging the work being done to showcase what Waterford offers, with excellent food produced locally and served at some of Ireland’s best restaurants.
