Toyota confirms Munster support

TOYOTA Ireland says it is totally committed to its sponsorship of theMunster rugby team despite Toyota globally heading towards its first operating loss in 71 years.

Toyota Ireland first signed a three-year sponsorship deal with Munster rugby in 2004 after Bank of Ireland ended its sponsorship after six years.

In 2007 it extended this contract — which is one of the most sought after sponsorships in Irish sport — for a further three years.

Toyota Ireland spokesman, Ian Corbett said the company is looking forward to continuing this partnership “over the coming years and beyond”.

“We have enjoyed a mutually beneficial partnership since 2004 and have seen Munster provide not only rugby fans but the entire country with enduring memories of great games,” he said.

Last week Toyota, the world’s largest carmaker, said its loss on a grouplevel this year may be three times its earlier estimates as car sales in the US and Japan plunge.
