Burgmann makes €500k investment

Burgmann Packings Ltd’s research is to expand its development and innovation operation, with an investment in excess of €500,000 at the company’s manufacturing plant at Tallaght in Dublin.

Making the announcement Tanáiste Mary Coughlan said that she is delighted to see Burgmann Packings demonstrate the transformations necessary to survive in the global economy of today, seeking out new markets and new products through innovation.

Commenting on the announcement managing director of Burgmann Packings Ireland Ltd, Celestine Grassick said: “With the aid Government through IDA Ireland this project will allow us to identify how we can marry our existing technologies and capabilities to develop new products for new markets.”

Renishaw to expand facilities

Swords: Renishaw is to expand its Swords facility by establishing a new R&D function in the treatment of neurological disease.

With the support of IDA Ireland, the expansion will create 17 R&D positions and 43 manufacturing positions over the next three years.
