Medtronic expects to hit profit targets

MEDTRONIC, the company that designed the world’s first heart pacemaker, said its businesses are not completely insulated from the global economic crisis, but it still expects to meet its financial goals in fiscal 2009.

The maker of insulin pumps, artificial spinal discs and heart devices has targeted sales growth of 9-11% and profit growth of 11-14%.
