Eircom to end FAI sponsorship

AFTER almost eight years as official sponsors, Eircom last night looked likely to officially end its relationship with the Irish domestic league.

At present the telecommunications company sponsors both the league and the national soccer side.

The current combined deal was renegotiated in 2003 and is believed to be worth up to €1.2 million per annum.
