Proper disposal key for businesses

Managing your business properly and adequately preparing it for disposal are the key considerations held by Irish business owners and managers when considering the sale of their company, according to a new report.

The survey on selling a business in Ireland — by AIB Corporate Finance and independent merger and acquisition intelligence service, Mergermarket — spoke to companies which have recently been through the disposal stage and found that almost 80% of companies here are sold because they received enticing offers, while over a third sold because they had no clear succession plan in place.
