Prizes of €40,000 at Kingdom Fair

THE show season focus turns to Tralee tomorrow, when the 59th annual Kingdom County Fair takes place at Ballybeggan Racecourse.

Over €40,000 in prizes and trophies will be on offer for a wide range of showing classes. There will also be an extensive indoor and outdoor trade display.

The organisers, headed by chairman Robert Groves, got a big boost recently when their general secretary John Browne was elected national chairman of the Irish Shows Association.

Writing in the ISA Yearbook, he stated that the shows held countrywide every year are important to the communities involved and are part of the fabric of Irish life.
