Spam mail rises as virus attacks fall

IRISH web-hosting company IE Internet has said that the rate of spam or junk emails being sent/received rose sharply last month, but that the rate of computer virus attacks have declined.

“More than 67% of emails sent to Irish users in March were spam emails“, said Ken O’Driscoll, chief technical officer with IE Internet.

The US, China and France are the main sources of spam mail.
