Calyx rebrands as demand grows

CALYX, which employs 500 people in Ireland and Britain serving the information and communications technology (ICT) sector, is merging its nine divisions under the Calyx brand.

Calyx rebrands as demand grows

The group is a leading end-to-end provider of information and communications technology, and has 12 locations in Ireland and Britain.

As a result of the move, security specialist Entropy and business software and e-business solutions firm Mentec, will be brought under the Calyx brand name in Ireland from March 31.

The move will compliment the group’s other Calyx businesses and is a response to the growing demand for integrated ICT services from end users.

The group’s list of top companies include AIB Group, Citi, O2 and the London Fire Brigade.

The rebranding initiative reflects the group’s position as a provider of total solutions to its customer base, offering a wide range of complimentary products and services.

The ICT market in Ireland has an estimated value of €4 billion.

In its first financial update since going private in July last year, Calyx said it achieved sales in the year to December 31, 2007 of €135 million.

That’s an increase of 54% on the previous year and those figures reflect a trebling of turnover over the last two years.

“Calyx plans to more than double in size again over the next few years. There are plenty of opportunities out there in Ireland and the UK, and we plan to continue our successful track record of expansion through acquisition and organic growth,” said chief executive Maurice Healy.

The move will compliment the group’s other Calyx businesses — voice and data, and training. In Britain, Matrix Communications, Mentec International, Network Partners, ITS Technology Services, and ServiceTec will now operate under the parent company’s name.

The rebranding provides the group with the capacity to support its planned growth and expansion, and will facilitate ease of expansion by the group in terms of acquisitions and integrating them into the group in the years ahead, said Mr Healy.

Since 2002, Calyx has invested in the development of its operations through a range of acquisitions, including ServiceTec in 2007 and Entropy, Matrix and Mentec in 2006.
