‘Recall will not disrupt supplies’

STRYKER does not anticipate that a voluntary recall of two replacement hip cups under its “Trident line” at its Cork facility will have a long-lasting disruptive effect on company supplies, said Stephen P MacMillan, Stryker’s president and chief executive.

‘Recall will not disrupt supplies’

Stryker announced the recall on Tuesday owing to an issue with the manufacturing residue on the Trident hip cups made in the company’s Cork plant.

The plant has already resumed shipments, suggesting the problem has been resolved there, and both the Cork facility and another plant in Mahwah, New Jersey, have ramped up production, Stryker said.
