€375m state skill training scheme

MINISTER for innovation policy Micheal Ahern yesterday launched a €375m European Social Fund’s Human Investment Programme for Ireland.

The programme will focus on upskilling workers as well as developing third level education courses.

Mr Ahern said the social fund is the EU’s instrument for investing in people by improving their employment opportunities through upskilling them, and helping to raise their standard of living by improving job prospects.
