Egyptian Army tenders for Irish beef

A TENDER for 2,000 tonnes of Irish beef for the Egyptian Army has been sent to An Bord Bia.

The specifications include ante mortem inspection by the Egyptian veterinary authorities.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian authorities have lifted a ban on live cattle for immediate slaughter from Ireland and pregnant heifers born and reared here.
