BT Ireland profits rise as revenue hits €549m

PROFITS at BT Ireland were up during the half-year to September 30, 2007, while revenue increased 6% to €549 million.

This news comes as BT Group, Britain’s largest phone company, posted its first profit decline in six quarters on costs to cut jobs and train workers at new units.

BT Ireland said yesterday that it could not give details on its half-year profits but confirmed that profits were up during the period.
