Brown Thomas profits rise 18%

UPMARKET department store group Brown Thomas has reported an 18% rise in profits for 2006.

New chief executive Nigel Blow said the rise to €24.1 million from €20.5m was down to higher turnover and cost control.

The company said sales rose by 11.8% to €313m and gross profit margins improved by 1.3% to 47%.
