IDA opens India office

THE IDA will shortly open a new office in India, with a view to increasing the amount of Indian investment coming into Ireland.

The office will be based in Mumbai, the opening of which follows the success of the recently opened IDA office in Shanghai, China.

CEO of IDA, Sean Dorgan said: “We have opened an office in India with a view to building relations with Indian companies and understanding their needs and getting them to understand the benefits of locating here in Ireland.

“There have been just a few Indian investments in Ireland, usually takeovers of Irish companies and we would hope that there will be more.”

Mr Dorgan added the IDA office in Shanghai is going well but was not in a position to announce any deals that have beenmade with Chinese companies looking to operate in Ireland.
