Getmobile returns to profit

IRISH-OWNED mobile services firm, Getmobile has posted a pre-tax profit of €1.1m on sales of €49.8m.

This compared to a full year pre-tax loss of €54.35m last year after it was hit by a €53.97m impairment charge arising from its acquisition of Getmobile in Germany.

Getmobile Europe chief executive Pierce Casey said the traditionally stronger second half will result in an increased profitability for the full year with expansion to put the company in a “significantly improved strategic position” in 2008.
