FARMERS have been urged to tie down a price before committing or delivering their grain this harvest.

IFA Grain Committee chairman Colum McDonnell said new crop grain prices have risen dramatically in the last week as crop production potential in many regions of the world have been further revised downwards.

“Markets are extremely nervous and any negative weather event in the main producing regions could drive prices higher,” he said.
