IDA chief Dorgan set to step down

IDA chief executive Sean Dorgan will step down at the end of the year following eight years with the company.

Prior to joining the Irish Development Agency (IDA), Mr Dunne was secretary general of both the Department of Industry and Commerce and the Department of Tourism and Trade.

He was also chief executive of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.

Chairman of the IDA, John Dunne said: “Sean Dorgan has served IDA with vision and vitality. His strategy strongly focused on transforming what overseas companies do in Ireland.

“New business sectors have been nurtured, such as biopharmaceuticals and digital media, that barely existed ten years ago.

“In addition, we are seeing world-leading companies repeatedly re-invest in high value strategic activities such as advanced manufacturing, next generation shared services, R&D, value chain and supply chain optimisation and EMEA headquarters,” he added.
